Walther Christian Academy

“Our only real object was to save our souls, to live in faith over here, to establish here the true and correct public worship, and to maintain a truly Christian school for our children.”  (CFW Walther)A Christ-centered high school had long been a goal for Lutheran Christians in the western suburbs of Chicago.  After years of planning, this milestone in Christian secondary education became a reality, and construction of Walther Lutheran High School was completed in 1955. After decades of growth, change, and challenge, Walther Christian Academy now operates a middle school and high school in Melrose Park. Walther Christian Academy’s vision is to be a preeminent faith-based school in the Chicagoland area that will graduate Christ-centered people from a rigorous academic environment for a lifetime of service throughout society.Walther Christian Academy is a Christian middle and high school, in the Lutheran tradition, that will nurture individualized academic excellence and spiritual growth in a Christ-centered, diverse learning community.
