Walther Christian Academy

“Our only real object was to save our souls, to live in faith over here, to establish here the true and correct public worship, and to maintain a truly Christian school for our children.”  (CFW Walther)A Christ-centered high school had long been a goal for Lutheran Christians in the western suburbs of Chicago.  After years of planning, this milestone in Christian secondary education became a reality, and construction of Walther Lutheran High School was completed in 1955. After decades of growth, change, and challenge, Walther Christian Academy now operates a middle school and high school in Melrose Park. Walther Christian Academy’s vision is to be ever-Christian, ever-innovative, ever-striving for excellence.  They strive to consistently equip and empower each of their diverse students to be leaders – leaders in the classroom; leaders in extra-curricular activities; leaders in their home life; leaders in their spirituality; leaders in their community; and leaders in the future, no matter where God and life might take them. The mission of Walther Christian Academy ministers to God’s young people by nurturing and educating the total student.  Walther assists families by promoting spiritual, academic, social and physical development in a Christ-centered environment.
